There have been several instances lately where counterfeit PGA member cards have been used by individuals trying to gain access to PGATOUR events and/or for a gratuitous round of golf.

For your information, all PGA member and apprentice cards will have a hologram beneath the date 2006 or 2007. The 2006 and 2007 cards have a plain silver hologram. A picture is not needed for the card to be valid, however, all PGA member and apprentice cards will have a hologram beneath the date 2006 or 2007. If you do grant any privilege for a PGA member/apprentice, you should require another photo ID with the same name even if the membership card includes a picture. To be absolutely sure that a card is valid, enter the card's ID number below, call 1-800-4PGAPRO (1-800-474-2776) or call your section office.

PGA MEMBER/APPRENTICE I.D. CARDS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE. PGA MEMBERS/APPRENTICES ARE EXPESSLY PROHIBITED FROM ALLOWING ANY THIRD PARTY TO USE THE CARD AT ANY TIME AND FOR ANY PURPOSE. VIOLATORS OF THIS POLICY SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE PGA OF AMERICA CODE OF ETHICS AND POSSIBLY FOR CRIMINAL PROSECUTION PURSUANT TO LOCAL LAWS.
