During the Special Olympics Golf National Invitational Tournament, we will profile several PGA Professionals who dedicate their time to Special Olympics.

Greg Leicht, PGA
Director of Golf
Vistal Golf Club
Phoenix, Ariz.

Grassroots Role:
Coach, trainer, Arizona Special Olympics State Golf Championship tournament director, head of Arizona delegation for NIT, founder/facilitator of Friendship Golf League, chairperson for Arizona Special Olympics Sports Program Committee, fundraiser

Why Special Olympics?:
"From the first practice I attended back in 2003, I have been hooked on Special Olympics. The athletes demonstrate true sportsmanship and positive attitudes toward the game. The athletes express a genuine appreciation to anyone willing to help them. The athletes are not in competition with each other; only with themselves. The athletes cheer each others success and offer words of encouragement whenever necessary. When this all started, I really thought I would be coaching to give back to the game and my community; , I have received more than I could ever repay and I have been welcomed with open arms by this extraordinary community of people."
