PGA Professional Profile: Steve Carson, PGA [Printer-friendly]
During the Special Olympics Golf National Invitational Tournament, we will profile several PGA Professionals who dedicate their time to Special Olympics.
Steve Carson, PGA
Director of Golf
Lincoln Park Golf Course
Oklahoma City, Okla.
Grassroots Role:
"My role is multi-faceted for sure. I serve on the Oklahoma Special Olympics Board of Directors to help with golf programming and competitions on a state level; and locally I help with facility access, teaching, tournaments, weekly classes, as a playing partner ... really I just try to help wherever needed."
Why Special Olympics?:
"The reward from working with Special Olympics athletes are endless smiles, big hugs and high fives from athletes. They truly love what they are doing and sincerely appreciate our help. There is nothing I do in golf that makes me feel better about who I am and what I do, than Special Olympics. I leave every session feeling good knowing that I am truly making difference."
