PGA Professional Profile: Jesse Weeks, PGA [Printer-friendly]

During the Special Olympics Golf National Invitational Tournament, we will profile several PGA Professionals who dedicate their time to Special Olympics.

Jesse Weeks, PGA
General Manager & Director of Golf
River Bend Links
Robinsonville, Miss.

Grassroots Role:
"I serve in whatever capacity is needed! I've been coach, playing partner, clinician, ambassador, league administrator, teacher of volunteer coaches ..."

Why Special Olympics?:
"Every human needs to champion a cause. I fell in love with the athletes, the Special Olympics program and those that volunteer their time for athletes and the program. The greatest compliment I've ever received as a human being came from a Special Olympics athlete while we were sitting outside a restaurant. He said 'Jesse if in 2006 my mother dies, will you take care of me?' To think that another human being would appreciate me enough to think I could help. You get so much more out of Special Olympics than you could ever give to the program. If you have an hour a week, it can make a world of difference."
